​I've been addicted to wild places ever since my father first took me trout fishing in Yellow River State Forest in northeast Iowa. I love teaching others about enjoying and conserving natural beauty and have been fortunate enough to work in some beautiful places, including Glacier National Park, Effigy Mounds National Monument, northern Wisconsin and currently, northeast Iowa. My freelance work has also been featured in a variety of places, including Iowa Outdoors magazine, Big River magazine, Wapsipinicon Almanac, Travel Iowa, the Cedar Rapids Gazette, the Des Moines Register, and most recently, on the cover of the State of Iowa Travel Map.
